The Maharashtra State Government was faced with a new set of challenges as start-ups grew and assumed a more central role in the lives of consumers. It needed to keep up with this emerging technology to understand new business models and their impacts on consumers. It had to manage competing priorities, ensuring systemic stability and consumer protection while maintaining a level playing field between incumbents and new entrants in the eGovernance industry.
To boost the activities related to innovation and start-ups in the state, Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation Limited, MahaIT on behalf of Government of Maharashtra is looking for dedicated, efficient and agile startups who are capable to work with MahaIT in solving issues pertaining to all kinds of Government services.
If you are a startup then you should satisfy the below conditions
1) Certification of Registration from Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion
2) The Date of Incorporation must be less than 7 years from current date
3) Its turnover for any of the financial years since incorporation must not have exceeded Rs 25 Crores.
Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation Ltd. (MahaIT) has been set up as an independent government corporation wholly owned by the State government of Maharashtra vide Government Resolution no. DIT – 1716 / C. No. 286/39, dated 9 August 2016. It is registered under Company Act, 2013 on 6 October 2016. MahaIT is contemplated to act as the nodal agency of Government of Maharashtra to bolster efficient and effective implementation of ICT initiatives and to establish a robust e-Governance eco-system framework.
Provide advice to the State Government of Maharashtra on various matters like devising and implementing strategies, policies, guidelines, processes to develop 'Smart Cities', ‘Digital Villages’, 'Bharatnet', 'Digital India', ‘Cyber Security’, ‘Health Management’ and similar projects under the respective programs initiated by the Government of India. To provide end-to-end ICT solutions to address technological requirements of development programmes undertaken in Maharashtra State from planning to procurement, to sourcing funds, to conduct design & development, to implement e-governance & ICT initiatives.
Facilitate innovation in technology and service delivery through industrial partnership and collaboration; and to act as incubator for pilot projects involving break-through concepts in the area of public services delivery and government administration. Develop a Centre of Excellence for researching, developing and implementing solutions involving innovative technology.
Provide strategic advisory to Government department/agencies/urban local bodies in the design and implementation of e-governance and other ICT based smart city solutions. Provide technical assistance, procurement services and programme management support in execution of ICT projects in Maharashtra. Ensure coordination and consultation between all key stakeholders, and members of the governance committees on a continued. Facilitate and help organise workshops and discussion meetings between MahaIT, MeitY, DIT, other state line departments/agencies, System Integrators/OEM vendors, consultants, other stakeholders etc.

- You would get to prove your concept, showcase your capabilities through a POC project
- You may be empanelled with MahaIT for regular work after your successful completion of POC.
- You would get to work on technologies which include IoT, AI, ICT etc
- You would be able to work with Domain experts on issues like Urban development, Planning, Finance etc.
